Bedford Girls Basketball started their playoff run at home with a win over Whittier Regional Vocational Technical, 69-52, at home on Monday evening.
Both teams started off slowly, missing many first-quarter shots, but then Bedford got hot. By the end of the game, 9 Buccaneers were on the scoring sheet.
The keys to the game were both team play and ferocious rebounding. Whittier missed many first shots, and Bedford rebounders like Captain Cate Marcus, were there to scoop them up.
Bedford Bucs took a 42-15 lead into the locker room at halftime. When they returned to the court, there were few smiles, as they were all business about finishing this game with a win.
Junior, Joelle DeLia lead all Bedford scorers with 19 points.
Bedford’s next game is in Amesbury at 7 PM on Thursday, March 1st.
