Operation Homefront, serving America’s military families® since 2002, has announced that Megan McKenna of Bedford is one of 95 semifinalists from across the United States competing for the 2018 Military Child of the Year® Award. Megan is one of 17 students in the National Guard group.

Chosen for their scholarship, volunteerism, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and other criteria while facing the challenges of military family life, a Military Child of the Year® Award recipient will represent each branch of the armed forces: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard.

Thirty-five finalists will be selected in February by a panel of judges chosen by Operation Homefront’s senior leadership.
