Bedford Food Pantry founder Peter Grey joined race organizer Rich Hamilton for the start of the race. “I can’t tell you how pleased I am to see so many people here this morning,” Grey said, surrounded by the throng of runners and walkers. Over the past 11 years, the race has raised multiple thousands of dollars to benefit the Pantry.

Each of the following winners took home a handsome Thanksgiving centerpiece, donated by Nancy Tripodi of Bedford Florist:

Women’s winner: Megan McCandless

Men’s winner: Kent Slaney

Best costume: The Silver family, complete with bibs and giant plastic ‘silverware’

Top Dog: Coda Barry, for the second year in a row

The youngest male participant: Sanders Bertos, age 7

Traveled the furthest: Dek Wolfson, from Great Britain

The largest family group: The Harringtons: Jennifer, Paul, Finn, Maddie, Emily, and Olivia

Floral arrangements will be delivered to the youngest female participant, Clara Trautz, age 6; the most senior female participant, Susan Campos; and the most senior male participant, Stephen LeBlanc.

Celebrating, post-race

.. .. .. the Bedford Police and DPW, without whom the race wouldn’t have been possible

But in the end, tutu tailfeathers stole the day
