I think the winds of tropical storm Nate helped fill the Buccaneer sails as they took on the Shawsheen Tech Rams at Sabourin Field on Monday. Athletic Director, Keith Mangan promised me that the rain would stop by the 10 AM start time, and he did not lie. The artificial turf on Sabourin field had not seen rain all of October, so the field was perfect condition for the rivalry. Earlier in the season, the two teams tied 1-1.
The BHS Bucs jumped out at the start and attacked the Ram’s goalie with multiple shots but could not put the ball in the net. It took Sophomore, Joe Watson to launch a corner kick which was scored by sophomore Matias Ou at the 12-minute mark to put BHS on the board.
A minute later, Matias Ou fed the ball to sophomore Nolan Hafer to give the Bucs a 2-0 lead.
About midway through the first half, freshman Jasper Paez made a spectacular header pass to junior Austin Busse who spun on the Rams defender and nailed the back of the net to put the Bucs up 3-0.

The second half was filled with a lot of one-on-one battles to control the ball but ended up scoreless and Bedford took the second meeting of the season 3-0.
Bedford’s next game is at Acton-Boxborough Regional Oct 10th.
