The Greater Bedford Center area was abuzz with activities on July 6th.
Baseball diamonds were full of little leaguers practicing. Softball fields hosted out of town teams. Sabourin Field had a high school summer soccer camp. Families competed on the upper tennis courts. Basketball courts featured traditional and non-traditional basketball games. Wilson Field hosted an adult “short field” soccer game.
Not all sports were competitive, but all were enjoyable

And those are just the traditional sports . . .
The JGMS tennis courts hosted “Pickleball” games. Have you heard of it? Neither had I? But it sure looked like a lot of fun for all ages. It is not a closed league, so if you are interested they will be there next Thursday as well.

But why did my camera ask me to wander Bedford Center?
One of my favorite Bedford Thursday Summer Traditions – SUMMER CONCERT SERIES 2017. July 6th kicked off the 2017 season with Dan Clark, the Singing Trooper, belting out Patriotic songs to Broadway tunes.
The Smmer Concert Series has moved from Bedford Common to the open field between Town Center and the Bedford Free Public Library. Refreshment are sold as a fundraiser for the Bedford Marching Band. – Images (c) Jeff ‘JHO’ Hoyland, 2017 all rights reserved – Double click to view larger image
