Election ~ 2017: Letter to the Editor, Sarah Scoville for School Committee

By Lee Frank

I am writing to endorse Sarah Scoville’s candidacy for the Bedford School Committee.

I have known Sarah for seven years. All three of her children attended St. Paul’s Nursery School while I was the school’s director. I could always count on Sarah for help with countless activities.

Sarah never shied away from any tasks. She coordinated a successful letter-writing campaign to raise funds for the school’s new playground. She ran the school art show for our fiftieth anniversary.  She created the role of parent liaison and would answer many questions from new parents. Sarah joined the school board and eventually became the president of the board. In that role, she worked tirelessly in the hiring of a new director upon my retirement.

As her children have progressed through the elementary schools, Sarah has continued to be involved. She has volunteered in classrooms and the art room. She has worked with B.E.S.T. In the community, Sarah played a strong role working with the families that lived in the Bedford Plaza Hotel.

Sarah is very thoughtful and deliberate in her approach to solving problems. She is creative, organized and energetic. Sarah will be a strong addition to the Bedford School Committee. Please vote for Sarah Scoville on Saturday, March 11.
