The Rolling Tones, Bedford High School’s coed a cappella group, rocked the house at EmerSong at Karem Shalom in Concord last Saturday.
The group presented a solid-gold performance, earning a standing ovation. According to a source at Emerson Hospital, “The Rolling Tones were phenomenal, performing crowd-pleasers such as ‘Killing Me Softly’ as well as a Hip-Hop medley.”
Opening the second act, “The Bedford High School’s Rolling Tones were a show stopper,” added Bedford’s Linda White.

Karem Shalom in Concord was full to the brim for this first annual event hosted by the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital. The event raised more than $10,000 to benefit Emerson Hospital’s work with patients who are recovering from substance misuse and dependence.
Bedford was well-represented in the audience. A long-standing Auxilian, Bedford’s Wilma Johnson was delighted by the show and offered compliments for fellow Auxilian Mimi Deck Rutledge. Rutledge is a member of Broad Band, a female a cappella group; her husband Tom served as Master of Ceremonies; and her son Kevin provided guitar interludes.
“EmerSong was a delightful evening of a cappella singing for a good cause,” added White. “The high school and college groups put a new spin on the barbershop quartet, Sweet Adelines, and male glee club traditions of the past. It was a pleasure to hear the mature voices of the BroadBand women who clearly are comfortable enough in their craft to also have fun with it.
The Fabian family loves a cappella music and made plans to attend the concert upon learning that the Rolling Tones would be on the program.
