Bedford High Boys Basketball team and the New England Patriots have two things in common – a winning attitude, and a strong Best Buddies Program.
Bedford’s Best Buddies were given VIP treatment when the basketball team played Wayland High on Friday night. The team had roped off a special “Box Seating” section behind the bench.
Bedford Selectman Mike Rosenberg opened the night by singing the National Anthem acapella.

The team did not disappoint as they beat Wayland, 78-43. Wayland kept the game close ending the first quarter only down one point, 19-18.
Senior Cam Shelmire lead the Bucs to a 22 point surge in the second quarter and boosting the lead to 41-19 by halftime.
Junior Jack Cowan rained down 4 three-point shots during the third quarter to pull BHS safely away.
Freshman Malachi Hazelton had three crowd-pleasing slam dunks that had everyone on their feet.
The basketball team is now 10-4 with 6 more games to go, with plans to return to the TD Boston Garden where the Division championship is held.
