BHS and JGMS Student Musicians Shine

Student musicians from the John Glenn Middle School and Bedford High School share their talents outside the district:

Eastern Junior District Festival, March 3-4 at Lincoln-Sudbury High School
Thirteen student musicians were selected for this year’s Eastern Junior District Festival, taking place March 3-4 at Lincoln-Sudbury High School. JGMS violinists Mina Bostwick and Niles Liu will perform with the orchestra, and Shunsuke Isobe, clarinetist from JGMS, will perform with the band. The treble choir will feature JGMS students Ellie Mitchell and Sarah Wirth. The mixed chorus will include JGMS vocalists Brendan Coyne, Isabella Santiago, and TJ Zovko, as well as BHS freshmen Lauren Abraham, Mia Federico, Amelia Leida, Bella Panagiotou, and Leah Paxton.

2017 MMEA All-State Festival, March 9-11 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel
Five student musicians will represent Bedford High School at the 2017 MMEA All-State Festival on March 9-11 at the Sheraton Boston. Matthew Bridgeman (tenor), Chloe DeMello (soprano), and Natalie Lewis (alto) will perform with the All-State choir, and violinists Shivani Angappan and Rachelle Shao will perform with the All-State orchestra. Matt and Chloe have been selected for All-State all four of their high school years.

Eastern District Senior Festival on January 6-7
Eight BHS singers were accepted to the Eastern District Senior Festival, held January 6-7 at Boston Latin School. Matthew Bridgeman, Chloe DeMello, Julia Doucet, Jayden Heller, Natalie Lewis, Emi McSwain, Liam Oates, and Ben Woodward represented Bedford at the festival.

NAFME’s 2016  All-Eastern Choir and  All-National Honors Choir
Matthew Bridgeman and Chloe DeMello were also selected for the National Association for Music Education (NAFME) All-Eastern Choir and the NAFME All-National Honors Choir for 2016.
