The last time Bedford played Boston Latin it was one of the lowest-scoring games of the year for Bedford High Girl’s Basketball.  You didn’t need to be the Oracle of Delphi to know that the February 14 game would follow a similar trend for low scores, and this time a winning outcome.

Bedford held a slim lead at end of the first quarter 8-5.

Joelle DeLia strapped on her Wings of Mercury and raced the court, forcing Boston Latin fouls and garnering 11 free throws.

Co-Captains Annie Cowen and Cate Marcus towered on the offensive boards like the Colossus of Rhodes.  Annie Cowen led all scorers with 9 points, followed by Cate Marcus with 8.

The Fates were kind to Bedford as they pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 44-36.

And in the JV game

In an early JV game, the combination of Abi Monahan, to Dani Arnold, to “the bucket” proved to be a Herculean endeavor for which Boston Latin had no answer. The JV Bucs won 51-22.bounds.
