Each year, Esther Mancini always had three beautiful Christmas trees. One on her enclosed porch. One in her living room. One in her dining room.

Her sons decorated them each year around Thanksgiving.

I would drive to the end of Sheridan Road. Then facing her house on Concord Road, I would pull the car over and put it in park. Every Christmas, this was part of our annual pilgrimage of visiting holiday-decorated homes with our young children.

Esther Mancini’s home was always on the list. Then came along my grandchildren and we repeated the same short adventure before visiting the other homes.

Well, Esther Mancini took her final journey and won’t be here this Christmas. It will be difficult not to include her home on our special Christmas trip this year.

Thank you, Esther, for sharng many years of Christmas beauty to my family.

Postscript: After this was written and submitted for publication Michael Mancini put up the three trees and decorated them this year in honor of his Mother. He felt that she would have wanted it.
