The night concluded with players on the recreation and travel teams challenging some of the varsity players to shooting contests, then a scrimmage. The recreation and travel teams signed up as they entered the Bedford High Gym for the Varsity Boys Basketball Season Opening Celebration, and Coach Vincent McGrath threw all the names into a red bucket
To open the 3-Point shooting contest, Coach McGrath pulled Trevor Forman’s name and asked him who he would like to challenge – Trevor choose Peter Kapanides.
Each player had 60 seconds to shoot as many 3-pointers as possible. Even though Peter had a two foot height advantage, Trevor out gunned him 8 to 7 for the win. With each basket that Trevor sank, the crowd cheered louder and louder.
