Three major Bedford websites have launched new, mobile-friendly websites since Bedford Day: the Bedford School Department, the Bedford Library and The Bedford Citizen.

The Bedford school department’s new site is handsome, and user-friendly with separate pages for the administration, and each individual school.

There are links to news stories, and background information about specific projects (like the Lane School Expansion) or particular initiatives (learn more about the Common Core).

The School Committee tab introduces visitors to the committee members, meeting dates and agendas, budgets, presentations that have been made to the Committee, and the Committee’s policy manual.

The Bedford Free Public Library – www.bedfordlibrary.net

bfpl-websiteThe Library’s new site includes features such as online sign-up for the library’s patron newsletter; personalized booklists; a page devoted to the Library of Things (for example, things like our new telescope!); online study room booking; and a sortable, color-coded library events calendar.

Familiar options for reserving one of the library’s museum passes remain in the new environment.

The site has a bright, new uncluttered look that is easily accessible, especially on mobile devices.

The Bedford Citizen – Community-supported News bedfordcitizen.wpengine.com

tbc-websiteThe Citizen launched its mobile-friendly site on Bedford Day, along with BeTC, Bedford’s Town-wide Calendar, calendar supported in part by a generous grant from the Bedford Cultural Council.

In its first week of availability, BeTC has logged more than 100 events, from non-profit organizations along with town boards and committees. Individuals are invited to enter their organization’s events at bedfordcitizen.wpengine.com/submit-an-event.

In addition to reading The Citizen online at our website, our content can be accessed via Twitter (@Bedford_Citizen) or Facebook, as well as through free email subscriptions to our daily RSS feed or our weekly summary, delivered to inboxes around Bedford at 7:30 each Sunday morning.
