The Bedford Citizen has recently learned of academic scholarship awards received by Bedford women:
- Sophie Brill Weitz was awarded a Commonwealth Honors Program Scholarship during the recent Middlesex Community College Celebrity Forum.
- Sonya Leonard was awarded a Mavis Leno Scholarship, established by the JDM Foundation to provide financial assistance to a deserving female student whose goals include working for the advancement of women’s rights.
- Madeline Harrington received a 2016 College Scholarship Award from the Greater Boston Plumbing Contractors Association; she will attend Saint Michael’s College in the fall.
