Members of the real estate industry congratulated the Women’s Council of Realtors® (WCR) Central Middlesex Chapter on the installation of the group’s 2016 president and officers recently at their annual installation breakfast held at Hanscom Air Force Base. Mimi Henning is a Realtor/ sales agent with The Higgins Group Realtors at 49 The Great Road in Bedford.

Other officers taking their oath of office along with President Henning were Treasurer Diane Maloney, of The Higgins Group; Secretary Rose Manni, of ReMax Leading Edge; VP of Membership, Helen Lawrence, of Andrew Mitchell; and Immediate Past President Diane Cadogan Hughes, a continuing Board Member also of The Higgins Group Realtors of Bedford.

The Women’s Council of Realtors® serves as a network and source of education and business tools focused on the needs of women Realtors® and seeks to empower women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders. WCR is the 12th largest women’s organization in the country, and the second largest Realtor organization following the National Association of Realtors.(NAR)

Longtime Bedford resident Ann Guay, attorney and advocate for those with special needs, was an impressive keynote speaker, stressing the meaning and importance of home. She referenced her work with the homeless community in Bedford, the challenging needs of those in homeless shelters, and the importance of Realtors as they connect all people to the community.

Newly inducted President Mimi Henning delivered an inspirational message. Referring to the group’s mission statement, which seeks “to advance women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the community,” Henning invited WCR to continue working with the local trade association, GBAR, and the Realtor® community as a whole, for the benefit of the industry and the clients they all serve. Henning stressed professionalism, adherence to the Realtor® Code of Ethics, responsiveness and continued teamwork.
