Annie LogoBedford’s John Glenn Middle School Music Department is proud to present its annual spring musical, Annie, JR. on Thursday April 7, at 7:00 p.m., Friday April 8, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday April 9, at 6:00 p.m. The show will take place in the JGMS auditorium, 99 McMahon Road. Tickets are just $10 each and are available at the Davis, Lane and JGMS school offices, as well as Great Road Gallery & Framing located at 363 Great Road, in Bedford.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin,  Annie, JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead. We follow orphan Annie on her inspiring adventure to find her real parents, encountering colorful characters and lots of adventure along the way. A classic underdog story with plenty of positivity and a happy ending.

A total of 75 students have participated as cast and backstage crew for this beloved annual event. The spring musical productions are a Bedford tradition, and music teacher Amy Budka is proud to be producing and directing Annie, JR. this year. “The students have worked so hard for months, and their enthusiasm is infectious,” Budka said. “It’s been a pleasure to have so many talented kids on stage and behind the scenes. It’s one of my all-time favorite shows!” Amy Budka is assisted by staff members Barbara Ferri, Assistant Director; Linda Aiken, Music Director; and Libbey Beinert, Choreographer.

JGMS students Isabella Panagiotou, Antranig Douglas, Grace Clark, and Mia Federico play the lead characters of Annie, Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, Miss Hannigan, and Grace Farrell. Plus there is a great line up of orphans and ensemble to keep your feet tapping and your voices humming during this fun family show.

And remember folks, if you feel it’s a “hard-knock life,” “you are never fully dressed without a smile,” so don’t forget to purchase your tickets “tomorrow”!
