Bedford’s 2016 electoral season begins tonight — Tuesday, January 12 — with the annual Town Caucus of registered voters.
The proceedings will begin at 7 pm in the Large Group Instruction Room at the John Glenn Middle School, 99 McMahon Road.
The Caucus will select candidates whose names on the March 12 ballot will be followed by the designation Caucus Nominee.
Candidates may also secure nomination papers from the Town Clerk on or before January 20, obtain sufficient signatures of registered voters, and return the papers for certification on January 22, 2016.
The offices to be considered at tonight’s caucus are:
- Assessors: 1 three-year term
- Board of Health: 1 three-year term
- Housing Authority: 1 five-year term
- Library Trustees: 3 three-year terms
- Moderator: 1 three-year term
- Planning Board: 2 three-year terms
- Regional School Committee: 1 three-year term
- School Committee: 2 three-year terms
- Selectmen: 2 three-year terms
