The Planning Board meeting of January 19 began with an informal discussion on a pending Industrial Mixed Use Special Permit on Crosby Drive requested by National Development, owners of Crosby Corporate Center.

National Development purchased the Center in November 2014 and now wishes to embark upon a phased redevelopment of the property which they feel would enhance the existing campus atmosphere.

As outlined by the developer, Phase I would “reinvigorate” the park by replacing an antiquated driveway and relatively unusable outdoor space with a system of pedestrian connections  and patios that would augment the outdoor space.  Parking spaces would be reconfigured to be more convenient to the existing five buildings and about 175 spaces would be added.

Phase II of the proposed project envisions construction of a 120-140 room “select service” hotel.  As explained, this type of hotel does not offer full service amenities such as meeting rooms and full dining facilities; it is intended primarily for the business traveler.
