Three New Members Appointed to Council On Aging Board

SelectmenAt their meeting of July 20 the Selectmen appointed three new members to the Council on Aging Board. Each one brings exceptional training and experience to the board.

Vito LaMura previously served on the Community Preservation Committee where he was chair for one year. In his application he wrote, “I am on the board of Minuteman Senior Services in Bedford. I teach Healthy Living classes in the Minuteman services area including the Bedford COA.” He also is a Meals on Wheels volunteer. His term will expire in 2017.

Allan E. Morgan has served as a city attorney and earned a master’s degree from the Kennedy School of Government.  He holds a doctorate degree in social gerontology.  On his application he wrote, “My research interests include transition to retirement, productive aging and aspects of livable communities.” His term will expire in 2018.

Emily Pruyn said she worked for 20 years as Personnel Director at a small company, working on government contracts. Locally, she has served as an election worker for nine years and was active in the Bedford Farmers Market for four years. She wrote, “Since I retired five years ago, I have become more and more involved with the Council on Aging programs and offerings….The COA holds a very warm spot in my heart and I would be honored…to give back.” She was appointed for a three-year term ending in 2018.
