Volunteer at the Council on Aging!

Submitted by the Council on Aging and the Bedford Senior Center

There are exciting and important ways to become involved as a volunteer at the Council on Aging. Contact director Alison Cservenschi by email at [email protected], or by telephone at 781-275-6825, to learn more.

HOSPITALITY AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT: Can you spare an hour or two to help the Council on Aging welcome our daily attendees by assisting to prepare and refresh drinks and snacks throughout our hours of operation?   This role may also assist with set up of kitchen tables and programming rooms.   It is a great opportunity to provide hospitality with time for a chat with other seniors.  Assistants are trained, and expected, to comply with safe food handling practices and procedures.  *Times are 8.00am – 1.30pm.  Time slots also available.  Available days are Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri (No minimum)

TRIP COORDINATOR: Help the Council on Aging with research and arrangements of exciting trips and adventures for our outgoing seniors!   This is an ‘as needed’ position, workable from home or with the COA team.  Be creative and this role will grow with your success.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Help the Council on Aging in building the volunteer pool and identify new volunteering opportunities for the COA.  This role will maintain volunteer lists and maintain contact with the pool.

RECEPTIONIST: Work with the COA team ‘behind the scenes’ to support front desk operations.  This may include welcoming seniors to the center, mailing and sending items, booking rides for our ‘wheels of life program’ and sending special invites to our monthly birthday list!
