The Bedford Box Tops for Education program is excited to announce another strong year of participation by Bedford families. This year, Davis and Lane schools earned a combined $7,333 through Box Tops collection. Click Boxtops Collage 2015 Elementary Winners  to view, enlarge, or print the winners’ image.

The Box Tops for Education program is an easy way for communities to earn cash that goes directly to the schools. Box Tops coupons can be found on hundreds of food and office products. Each clipped Box Top is worth 10 cents when redeemed. The BEST Box Top Committee works all year to collect, trim, package, and submit the thousands of Box Tops sent into the schools by our elementary students.

Bedford Elementary Schools Together (BEST/PTO) has used the Box Tops earnings towards supporting the schools with enrichment programs like author visits, guest speakers, and field trips, as well as educational materials unable to be funded by the normal school budget.

Each month, at both Davis and Lane, the top three classrooms receive a certificate of recognition, and a trophy for the class with the most Box Tops is awarded. At the end of the school year, the top 3 classrooms at both schools win goody bags, and the class that brings in the most Box Tops gets to see their class photo in the Bedford newspapers!

This year, Davis School earned $3,567.30. The Top 3 classes were:
1) Mrs. Meyer’s class – 4,816 Box Tops
2) Mrs. Smith’s class – 4,524 Box Tops
3) Mrs. Seldon’s class – 1,892 Box Tops

Lane School earned $3,666.10. The Top 3 classes were:
1) Ms. Armangau’s class – 3,254 Box Tops
2) Mrs. Grimes’s class – 2,254 Box Tops
3) Ms. Maguire’s class – 1,940 Box Tops

Also included in this year’s Lane School total were two winners of the annual Box Tops Sweepstakes Contest sponsored by Market Basket, an exciting mid- year surprise for the schools. Each winner received 500 Box Tops in the Sweepstakes simply by filling out a ticket from the store. The full list of class standings can be found on the Bedford Box Tops for Education Facebook page.

Even if you don’t have school-aged children, Box Tops are an easy and free way to support the schools. So, please grab your scissors and keep an eye out for the Box Tops for Education logo on the products you use every day. Participating companies and product lines include General Mills, Green Giant, Kleenex, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Ziploc, Hefty, Motts, Hanes, Progresso, Yoplait, Betty Crocker and many more. For a full list of participating products, go to www.btfe.com/products.

Box Tops can be dropped off at the Bedford Town Hall, COA, BFC, or you can mail them directly to Davis, Lane, or JGMS.

Thank you, students, staff, families, friends, community members, and our dedicated Box Tops Committee members. Next year, we hope to keep the momentum going and top this year’s Box Tops earnings, but we will need everyone’s help to get there!
