Ask This Old House cast member Roger Cook and a small crew of landscapers were joined by a video production and publicity crew at Lane School on Wednesday. Their goal? To create four raised beds and a trellised arbor to enhance the Three Sisters’ garden that was originally funded by the Bedford Education Foundation several years ago.

The project sprang to life when Lane School Green Team coordinator Mrs. Jean Mickel decided that she had nothing to lose by stopping into the This Old House offices in Concord. During her visit Senior Producer Heath Racela was captivated by the story of the school’s Green Team, and the prospect of refurbishing the school’s garden.
Assistant Principal Keith Kinney helped both to coordinate the project and to help with the construction.
Wednesday’s work began at 7 am, well before school started, and was still underway late in the afternoon. The Bedford Citizen’s coverage will continue with a story written by Lane School students. We’ll also alert the community when the show airs next fall.
