The Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet under the direction of Alan Pearlmutter will present French Frolic, a concert to be held at First Parish Unitarian Universalist, 75 The Great Road, Bedford, Massachusetts.  Saturday, November 22, 2014, 8:00 p.m.

Presenting music by French composers and arrangers, the concert will include:  Claude Debussy  Petite Suite, arr. Stephaan Brakkee; André Caplet  Suite Persane; Jean Françaix  Sept danses d’après le ballet “Les malheurs de Sophie”; Emmanuel Chabrier  Huit pièces pittoresques, arr. Jean Françaix.

KDWQ features rarely heard original compositions and arrangements of more well-known classical works for ten wind instruments.  The double wind quintet (a.k.a. dectet), rather rare in America, combines the intimacy of chamber groups and the power of larger ensembles.  The sound of ten winds resonates with a full panorama of orchestral color, depth and brilliance.

Tickets: Adults $20; Seniors/Students/FPB attendees $15; 13-18 $10; 12 and under Free.

Advance Ticket Reservations and information: Email [email protected];  phone (781)275-2789; or check our website www.kammerwerke.org .  Handicapped Accessible.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
