Seeking Host Families for New Ice Hockey Program at The Edge

June 4, 2014

eastcoastwizardsThe Edge and its East Coast Wizards have added a Junior Men’s and a Junior Women’s ice hockey team for athletes ages 16 – 20 during the 2014 / 2015 season.

Because team members will be from towns near and far as well as outside Massachusetts, the Edge is looking for host families willing and able to billet a player. Team members will be enrolled in local schools, so the program seeks families willing to mentor the athletes, and to provide a structured family environment outside the rink.

A similar opportunity worked well when the women’s national hockey team practiced at The Edge for several months before heading off to the Olympics.  A search for equally supportive families is underway for the new junior teams.

Michelle Palumbo, the assistant general manager of The Edge and billet coordinator, is available to answer questions at (781) 760‐9107. Click to read The Edge’s Billet Families fact sheet.
