May 7, 2014

Submitted by John Guilfoil, for the Bedford Police and Fire Departments

Public-Safety-Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno and Fire Chief David Grunes reported today that at approximately 1:15 p.m., units responded to the area of Burlington Road, and Hume Road for a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus and a single passenger car.

The Bedford Charter Service school bus was transporting children home when the accident took place. A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the car was stopped at the intersection to make a left turn, when the bus struck her vehicle from behind.

Approximately 18 students were on the bus at the time. No one aboard the school bus was injured. Another school bus was used to bring the children home.

My name is Mark Parisse and I was on bus 10 (The bus in the crash) and I want everyone to know that my heart truly goes out to that poor woman we hit. I pray that she will be okay and healthy again. (Keep in mind I was on that bus)
