Rabbi Arik Ascherman, a senior rabbi and President of Rabbis for Human Rights (RHR), will present a special Bedford Lyceum in the sanctuary of First Parish Unitarian Universalist, 75 The Great Road, Bedford, from 12:30 until 2 pm on Sunday, March 30. A reception will follow his presentation.
An activist who has received numerous awards and recognitions, Rabbi Ascherman resides in Jerusalem and is well known for his human rights work. His visit to First Parish is co-sponsored by the First Parish Peace and Justice Committee; Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East (UUJME) and American Jews for a Just Peace, Boston (AJJP-Boston). Co-chaired by Dr. Alice Rothchild, AJJP is dedicated to furthering a just and peaceful resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, a resolution that will provide justice, safety, security and freedom for Jews, Palestinians, and others living in the region.
