According to Citizen of the Year Ralph Hammond, the Circuit Trails project will “contribute to a safe, healthy, walkable and welcoming community by connecting and maintaining the more than 30 miles of trails, paths and bikeways that we already enjoy in our community.”
Hammond’s talk will be part of First Parish’s Bedford Lyceum, a public forum held each week from 9:30 to 10:50 am in room 204 on the second floor of at First Parish on the Common, Bedford’s historic meeting house.
Through linking the existing trails, the Circuit Trails project will:
- highlight Bedford’s rich geological, natural and historical landmarks.
- bring to life changing habitats and connections to our environment.
- allow more walkability to town businesses, schools and workplaces.
- bring the community together and alive through an enjoyable and easy to walk experience.
- have an opportunity to explore and research Bedford’s meaningful past.
“Walking the trails in Bedford can enhance the dignity of all the citizens by building connections to our past, to our environment, to our town and to each other,” concluded Hammond.
