The Music Committee of First Parish on the Common will present Paris is for Lovers, its 5th annual Valentine’s Day concert at 4 pm on Sunday, February 9.
The first part of the program will be a Parisian themed cabaret with vocalists Cynthia Mork and Ben Sears, accompanied by Brad Conner, piano, and Nathan Kimball, cello. They will perform such great romantic songs as “April in Paris,” “I Love Paris,” “La Vie en Rose,” “The Last Time I Saw Paris” and others.
In the second part of the program, virtuoso pianist Igor Lovchinsky will present a concert featuring Frederick Chopin: the enduringly popular Nocturne in E-flat major Op.9 #2, the haunting Nocturne in C# minor, Op. posth., and the dazzling Impromptu in A-flat major Op. 29. Additionally, Mr. Lovchinsky will treat the audience to Ravel’s Pavanne and Sain-Saens/Liszt’s Danse Macabre.
A delectable chocolate reception will follow the concert. Suggested donation: $20, adults; $15, seniors and students.
