Karen Kenney of OrganizingWORKS in Bedford will bring her vast knowledge on how to get started and help you come up with a plan. (This is also a great “organizing basics” plan for all of us who are resolving to become better organized in the new year.) • BEDFORD CENTER FOR THE ARTS PHOTO GROUP: Bedford resident Charles Mazel’s fascination with underwater fluorescence*  has taken him diving on coral reefs around the world and to the bottom of the sea in research submersibles. Mazel talk about his adventures at the 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, at the Old Town Hall, 16 South Road. The Photo Group, a program of the Bedford Center for the Arts, is comprised of about 30 photographers from Bedford and nearby communities who gather monthly to learn more about the artistic and technical principles of digital photography.  The meetings are typically held on the first and third Tuesdays in each month from 7-9 pm in the BCA space on the ground floor of Old Town Hall, 16 South Road, Bedford.  Guests are welcome.  For more information about the group, visit https://bcaphotogroup.wordpress.com or contact Bob Bass at [email protected] or 781-275-5230. * Fluorescence is a magical optical effect that often reveals vibrant hidden and unexpected colors and patterns in familiar subjects. For Charlie his obsession started as a simple curiosity as to what he would see if he went scuba diving at night with ultraviolet lights, and eventually led to a career in the science and engineering of equipment for researching, viewing, and photographing fluorescence. Through his company, NIGHTSEA, he provides fluorescence equipment for recreational scuba divers, marine scientists, laboratory researchers, and more.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN (AAUW): The U.S. women’s movement changed the social and cultural dialog in this country and Boston was one of the centers of this movement. “A Moment in Her Story: Stories from the Boston Women’s Movement” is not about feminist stars as defined by the media. The interviewees are the women who fought these struggles in groups and collectives and developed a new way of working together. They include working class women, black women, Latinas, lesbians, socialist feminists and the radical and cultural feminists of the late 60’s and 70’s. I doubt that you have seen this revolutionary force portrayed before according to the film’s producer Catherine Russo who will be present to share her thoughts on the film. The program will take place in the fully accessible Meeting Room at the Bedford Free Public Library on Mudge Way at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 8.
