Citizen Journalism 101 Begins on January 8

December 10, 2013

The Bedford Citizen is offering “Reporting for News Sites or Blogs,” a series of three workshops, as part of the Recreation Department’s Winter Activities listings.  Both adults and teenagers are welcome. Instructors will include the volunteer staff of the Bedford Citizen – Kim Siebert, Julie Turner, Ginny Packer and Meredith McCulloch. The workshops will meet for three weeks starting Wednesday January 8 at 7:30 and cost $25 for the series.

The program description reads, “Learn how to write a clear, accurate and engaging story for web or print.  Get tips on how to formulate your lead, organize information, check for accuracy and turn your article into an interesting story.  Students are encouraged to submit their work to The Bedford Citizen for online publication.”

The Recreation Department brochure explains how to register in person or online. It was mailed to Bedford households this week and is available online at their website. Click here to read the PDF.

Questions about the series may be addressed to Meredith McCulloch at 781-275-6256.
