Bill Larkin, a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1987, won the Best Actor Award for his performance as Ed Kleban in A Class Act at the November 4th Jeff Awards in Chicago.
The Jeff Awards celebrate excellence in Chicago Theatre. They are the Chicago equivalent of the New York City Tony Awards A Class Act is a biographical musical based on the life of composer-lyricist Ed Kleban, written after his death in 1987 by his friends. Ed Kleban is best known for his award winning collaboration on the musical Chorus Line.
Bill Larkin has previously acted on the Chicago Stage in well reviewed performances as Vice Principal Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by James Lapine, and as the Genie in the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s musical production of Disney’s Aladdin. He also performs regularly at Chicago’s Howl at the Moon piano bar.
