Smith also will describe how the Civil War changed the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

The program will begin at 7:15 pm with a social period in Fellowship Hall of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 The Great Rd.  Around 7:45 pm, after brief announcements by Society President Jan van Steenwijk, Mr. Smith will begin his presentation.
