The Bedford Chamber of Commerce has announced November 3rd as the date for the thirteenth annual Flavors of Bedford event, an extravaganza of exciting ideas, and delicious food, served with a side of competition, featuring restaurants, grocery stores, and bars from Bedford and the surrounding area.

Here’s a chance to size up local Chefs, who come together to cook, compete, and serve up some of their best appetizers, entrees, and desserts in tasting portions at tables where attendees can meet, greet, and eat in the company of friends, family, and foodies.  High School performers add to the festivities with background music and vocals, and, according to event organizers, the raffle prizes donated by area merchants seem to get better every year.

Bedford attorney and amateur gastronomist Nat Brown says of the event, “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the Town to get together, and an opportunity to meet the restaurateurs and food service people who work in the area.”

Key sponsor, Brown says he first began supporting Flavors of Bedford more years ago than he can remember.  “I felt that it was an opportunity to share with the Town and to help out financially in a community activity,” he says.  Brown, who dresses up for the occasion says whether you decide on formal wear or something more casual it’s a great night out and very worth the price of admission.

$40 buys you a ticket that entitles you to tasting portions of a range of delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts.  Coffee is provided free of charge; wine, beer, and mixed drinks can be purchased from the event bar .

“Last year’s menu and prizes attracted one of the biggest crowds ever,” says Director of the Bedford Chamber Maureen Sullivan.  “It’s always fun and exciting to see so many people come out to support us, and the food is just amazing.  The Chefs really do a great job.”

Flavors of Bedford is a major fundraiser for the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, a group that works to maintain and improve the quality of business and home life in Bedford.  As it has in recent years, part of the proceeds for this year’s Flavors will go to support Friends of Hanscom, a group who provide aid to Hanscom Air Force Base personnel and their families.

Premier sponsorship for Flavors of Bedford is provided by the Law Offices of Brown & Brown, P.C., and the Doubletree Bedford Glen Hotel.

Additional sponsorship is provided by Bedford Florist, DSA Printing, Brookline Bank, Summit Health and Fitness, Middlesex Savings Bank, TD Bank, Genetti’s Wine & Spirit, Inc., Aria Longmeadow Place, Stonebridge at Burlington, The UPS Store, Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Northrop Grumman, Cambridge Savings Bank, Great Road Gallery & Framing, Carlton & Duran, CPAs, Garrison Knight Financial Planning, The Higgins Group, Dr. Oscar DePriest, JRM Antiques, Debbie Spencer, Sheena Santos, Ken Gordon, Baldwin Insurance, Live Life Well, Christine Pinney Marketing and Uvisualize Travel.
