Bedford’s Got Talent 2013 Announces Performers and Sponsors for October 27th Show

Performers in Bedford’s Got Talent 2013, presented by the Bedford Education Foundation (BEF), are perfecting their skills and looking forward to a packed house when the curtain goes up in the BHS auditorium on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.   The show is directed by Emily Mitchell.  Master of ceremony duties will be shared by Bedford favorites Julie Turner and Mike Rosenberg who will welcome a very talented, multi-age and diverse group of performers to the stage sure to entertain all members of the family.

Vocal performances will include soloists, duets, groups as well as vocals with instruments:  the BHS Bellachords, Isabella Panagiotou (Gr. 6), Sharon MacDonald with guitar, Amelia Leida (Gr. 6), David Woodward, Kira Perzel Mandell (Gr. 12) with ukelele, Haley Place (Gr. 8), Ken Budka with guitar, Emi (Gr. 8) and Ally (Gr. 6)  McSwain with piano and guitar, Lauren Winn (Gr. 12)  and Stacy Swider with guitar.

Musicians include pianists Eric Zhang (Gr. 3) and Bradford Aldrich (Gr. 9), Mihir Vaze (Gr. 3) on tabla (Indian drums), and two BHS rock bands State of Mind with Sam Ryan, Aaron Hamilton, Sungyr Han and Andrew Williams and Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat with Allen Zhou, Angela Praino, Marko Deparalta and Filippo Tazzi.

The Chuck Frates tap dancers, a show stopper in Bedford’s Got Talent 2010, and 4th grade tapper, Riley Newman, will make you want to get up and join them.   Callahan’s Karate will also be high stepping on stage with a demonstration.  Many of us have played around with a Chinese yoyo at some time or other, but wait until you see what 8th grader Michael Chen can do with his!

Tickets for the performance ($10 for adults and $8 for seniors/students/children) are available at the Davis and Lane School Offices, Bedford Council on Aging and Chip-in Farm as well as online at the Recreation Department website: https://bedrecregister.org/registration.sdi.   Tickets ordered online can be picked up starting at 1:30 pm on the day of performance.  Tickets will also be available at the door on Sunday, October 27th.  Don’t be disappointed; get your tickets before the performance is sold out and cheer on your Bedford friends and neighbors!

Bedford’s Got Talent 2013 is a fundraiser for the Bedford Education Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization.  The BEF raises funds to support grant requests from K-12 teachers in the Bedford Public Schools.  Since Fall 2008, the BEF has funded more than $94,000 of teacher grant requests.  For additional information regarding the BEF, please visit www.bedfordeducation.org.
