Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren paid a visit to Hanscom Air Force Base on Tuesday, August 20, to meet with the base leadership and Governor Deval Patrick’s Military Asset and Security Task Force.
According to Selectman Margot Fleischman— who attended the public portion of the event— Senator Warren offered brief remarks about the military and sequestration and then fielded several questions. State Representative Ken Gordon noted that the conversation touched on “Military intelligence gathering, transportation, and the use of technology and things like protection of cyber security and even protection at large public events like the Super Bowl.”
The Military Asset and Security Task Force was created early in 2012 by then-Lt. Governor Tim Murray as “a call for action to begin a long term initiative to support all military installations in Massachusetts.”
