At Monday night’s Selectmen’s meeting, Selectman Margot Fleischman reported that the Transportation Advisory Committee has voted to proceed with requests through the DPW for preliminary engineering and cost analyses for Concord Road and Hemlock Lane sidewalk projects.
The Committee hopes that the cost analyses will result in moving ahead with both projects, rather than having to decide between them. As there is a relatively good balance in the Community Preservation sidewalk fund account, both projects could gain approval as long as no unforeseen engineering obstacles increase costs along either of the sidewalk routes.
The two projects have been presented to— and, in concept, have been approved by— the Selectmen at earlier meetings. To read the article about the Concord Road proposal, visit: https://thebedfordcitizen.org/2012/12/06/concord-road-sidewalk-plan-extends-from-hardy-street-to-caesar-jones-way/
