Nominations for the 11th Annual River Stewardship Award due on April 17

Submitted by the Concord League of Women Voters and the Wild and Scenic River Stewardship Council

Suasco-header-lg,jpgDo you know an outstanding advocate who deserves a River Stewardship Award?

Is there an inspiring project, innovative strategy or creative program that protects the beauty and health of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers, or is dedicated to building an environmental legacy for future generations?

The River Stewardship Award honors individuals, environmental organizations, community, youth, business, government employees or teachers whose work will inspire children, families, town and school leaders to protect and preserve our wild and scenic rivers and protect the watershed.  Eligible communities for the awards include, but are not limited to, the shoreline towns of Framingham, Wayland, Sudbury, Lincoln, Concord, Bedford, and Carlisle.

2012 Award winners included Adrienne St. John and Kristin Dowdy of Bedford along with individuals from other towns. Prior Bedford winners include Dave Ranney; Libby Herland; Bob Slechta, Dennis Warner, Peggy Hobbs, Susan Russo, and Don Corey; Alan Bragg; and Andrew Colgan.

Nomination forms are available at the Concord Town House, the Natural Resources Commission office, and both Concord libraries, or online at the Concord-Carlisle LWV website www.lwvcc.org.
