Town Manager Rick Reed announced at Monday night’s Selectmen’s meeting that the bids for the synthetic turf projects have been received.

“The lowest bid allows us to fund alternatives one and two which is the expansion of the track to eight lanes to allow for the regional track meets, if we wanted to host them, and also for the field event area,” Reed said. “There’s not enough funding to go to the third alternative which [includes] the visitors stands. We have to keep some of the funds back for contingencies.”

The lowest bidder, Reed reported, was Heimlich Landscaping and Construction of Woburn. The synthetic turf contract will be discussed at the Selectmen’s meeting on March 4 before it is officially signed.
