The School Committee has approved next year’s 2013-2014 academic calendar, identifying Tuesday, September 3— the day after Labor Day— as the first day of school and Tuesday, June 17 as the potential last day, assuming that no snow days alter the plan.
Also, next year, Friday December 20 will be a full day after which classes will suspend for the holiday break. There will be no classes on the Monday before Christmas, as there were this year. School will reopen after the break on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
Full-day workshop days— during which there will be no classes— are expected to be January 17 and March 14 but those dates will be confirmed. Wednesdays remain ¾ days with early dismissal times, specific to each school, consistent with this year’s schedule. High School graduation in 2014 will take place on June 5.
Kindergarten orientation dates and parent conference nights have not yet been decided. Once these and other dates are finalized, the calendar will be posted on the district’s website.
