Democratic candidate Ken Gordon addressed a recent board meeting of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce

As part of their voter service activities, the Bedford League of Women Voters has scheduled a Candidates Forum for the two candidates for State Representative – one of whom will represent Bedford when elected in the Nov. 6th State Election.

The forum will begin at 7:30 pm in the Lane Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room on Tuesday, Oct. 23.  All interested voters are invited to attend.  Bedford’s Town Moderator, Betsey Anderson, will moderate the debate.

Republican candidate Walter Zenkin also addressed the Chamber’s board

The two candidates for the 21st Middlesex District Representative seat are Walter Zenkin of Burlington – a Republican, and Kenneth Gordon of Bedford – a Democrat.  Both men won write-in campaigns in their respective Republican and Democratic primaries last month.  They are vying to fill the seat of retiring State Rep Charles Murphy – Democrat of Burlington.

Also invited to participate in the forum are the two candidates for State Senator:  Democrat Mike Barrett of Lexington and Republican Sandi Martinez of Chelmsford.  Barrett has accepted the League’s invitation, but Ms. Martinez has not responded (as of this paper’s deadline).  Under LWV policy, both candidates have to agree to participate or there will not be a debate.
