We’re on to week 2 of Round 1 voting in The Bedford Citizen’s Best In Show dog contest. We’re closing in on 100 dogs entered in the contest with a week left to enter.
On June 30, the New York Times jumped on The Bedford Citizen Dog Days of Summer theme and published an interesting article on the boom of research on pets. (See the article here. We’ve used online tools to randomly assign competition and bracket placement. Dogs entered before June 24 received Round 1 assignments last week; those registered after will receive assignments when the entry window closes on July 7. Face-off assignments (and results) have been added to the bottom of the profiles. We’ll create a visible bracket once the entry has closed.
Statistically, it appears that voting has been done pretty fairly thus far, and Google forms works for voting. Thank you for observing the honor code to vote just once. Almost all of the Round 1 Group A face-offs were very close. So close that one match was perfectly even-Skylar and Rascal ended Group A voting in a tie and will move on to Round 2.
Yoda, Teddy, Roxy, Dodge, Joey, Jammer, Sophie, Lewis, Sadie, Java, and Kipo will also be moving on from Group A to Round 2.
Round 1 Group B voting will end on July 7, along with entry into the competition.
