On the morning of June 3, 196 Job Lane School third graders and their teachers went on a walk from the school to tour the house built by the school’s namesake, Job Lane.

This has been a wonderful learning experience for the students for a number of years. The students learned how Job Lane arrived in Bedford and built the house for his family and several subsequent generations. They also learned the answers to questions from the tour guides such as:

  • What year was the Job Lane House built?”
  • “What are the three sisters?”
  • “Where did they take a bath?”
  • “Who was Rufus Porter?”

If their parents are unable to answer these questions, they are welcome to come for a tour of the Job Lane House from 2 to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month from May through October. Others are welcome to visit as well.

The Job Lane House is located at 295 North Road, Bedford. Learn more at https://joblanefarmmuseum.org.
