Georgia Tech Spring 2024 Graduates Announced

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to more than 5,700 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 266th Commencement exercises on May 2 – 4, 2024, at the McCamish Pavilion.

Among the graduates were Bedford students Julia Afeltra and Kyungchul Ha.

Local Students Earn Worcester Polytechnic Institute Degrees

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) held its 155th Commencement on May 10. Nearly 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony, including to three Bedford students.

Bedford graduates include:

  • Cory Abraham, majored in Mechanical Engineering
  • Lauren Abraham, majored in Biology and Biotechnology
  • Cole Parks, majored in Computer Science and Robotics Engineering

President Grace J. Wang, PhD, and Board of Trustees Chair William Fitzgerald presided over the exercises.

In her commencement address to undergraduates, Nancy M. Pimental, a 1987 WPI graduate who spent 11 years as a writer and executive producer on the hit Showtime series “Shameless,” told the graduates they are well-prepared for whatever career path they choose to follow.

Benjamin Smothers named to Mississippi State University’s spring 2024 President’s List

Benjamin Smothers, of Hanscom AFB, MA, was named to the Mississippi State University spring 2024 President’s List.

Smothers is among 4,137 students who have attained this honor. Students on the President’s List achieved a 3.80 or better grade-point average, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.
