An Obituary: Marilyn J. Carlo

Marilyn J. Carlo of Bedford, MA passed away on June 22, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was the beloved daughter of the late George E. Mahoney and Priscilla M. Slayton (Johnson), the devoted wife of Robert A. Carlo, the mother of Kristina Carlo Votto (Michael Votto) and Robert A. Carlo Jr., and the sister of William G. Mahoney and partner Donna. She was the loving grandmother of Ava and Anna Votto and cherished aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. An animal lover, Marilyn also leaves her loyal service dog, Sal.

Marilyn was the longtime food services director at Bedford High School where she was known for her generous servings and welcoming spirit. Marilyn loved nothing more than time and laughter with her family and friends, making sure they were always happy and well fed. She and her husband Bobby enjoyed sharing time on their boat and in their second home in Boca Raton, FL with all of their family and friends. Her laughter and generosity always set the tone wherever she went and whoever she was with. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 90 Concord Road, Bedford, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, West 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Attn: Contribution Services

My condolences to Marilyn’s family. I remember her kindness, generosity and dedication to Bedford High School students at the All Night Graduation Party through the years.
