An Obituary: George K. Lua

June 25, 2024

George K. Lua, 64, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Bedford, Massachusetts. Born on August 22, 1959, in San Francisco, California, George was a cherished member of his family, a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a proud member of the Bedford community.

George graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1976 and went on to establish a career as an Executive Chef, a role in which he thrived for years, bringing joy to many through his food. His life was a testament to his values of hard work, generosity, and acts of kindness. He was always thoughtful and giving to those around him. George loved music, reading, and cherished long drives and adventures with his wife Karen. He loved spending time at events celebrating his children and grandchildren. George spent many hours on the sidelines of baseball and softball fields coaching his five children and many other youths in Bedford. His many quips, sayings, and values will live on with those who learned from him on the field.
