The program features recently introduced rose varieties as well as old favorites that are disease-resistant, winter-hardy, easy to grow roses, that bloom all season. Mike and Angelina have been growing roses for over 25 years.  RoseSolutions, a landscape company, offers educational programs, workshops, seminars, and consulting services on rose horticulture. This popular event features fresh strawberry shortcakes and hot fudge sundaes on sale, rain or shine. Prices range from $5 to $7. Live music will also be provided. West Virginia Music Festival

Bedford’s First Church of Christ, 25 Great Road, will host a benefit West Virginia Music Festival from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20. Live Appalachian folk music will be performed by duo Tim & Maggie. A pulled-pork buffet dinner, children’s activities, plus a bake sale will also be featured. Admission is $15 per person or $40 per family (including dinner). All proceeds support the purchase of a new pick-up truck for the Appalachian South Folklife Center in West Virginia. Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

First Church of Christ Congregational 25 Great Road, Bedford

The First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bedford, 25 Great Rd., will host an old-fashioned spaghetti dinner on Friday, March 17. There will be continuous seating from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit First Church ministries. The dinner will include pasta, sauce with meatballs, salad, garlic bread and dessert. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. A suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child will be taken at the door. BACS Flower Arranging Workshop

Look ahead to spring by signing up for the Bedford Arts and Craft Society’s upcoming workshop, “Create a Floral Arrangement Using Design Principles.” This in-person event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Bedford. The instructor, Cindy Mattson, is the longtime owner of Given Erwin Florist in Burlington. She teaches floral design at the shop, as well as for adult ed programs, women's groups, and floral industry events.
