Middlesex Community College Admissions Virtual Open House

Middlesex Community College has a plan in place for the Summer and Fall 2021 semesters to get students back on track with their education. Featuring classes in-person, online and a blended hybrid of both options, Middlesex offers flexible schedules and high quality content at an affordable price. MCC will host two Admissions Virtual Open House Events this Spring. The first will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 10.

“Our exciting Admissions Virtual Open House Events are using a new software to make the experience more dynamic for prospective students and their families,” said Jillian Freitas-Haley, MCC’s Assistant Dean of Enrollment. “In this new format, attendees can look through our offerings and determine what they want to learn about most here at Middlesex.”

Freitas-Haley encourages students and their families to attend and hear about the college’s more than 80 certificate and degree programs, student support services and more. Through MCC’s new software SCHED, attendees can sign up for the sessions they want to join. Sessions are run by experts throughout the college sharing information on their department offerings.

In a session on Student Wellness, students can learn how Middlesex supports the whole student – including mentally and academically. MCC’s Career Services department will offer sessions on how they help students on their path from choosing a major to getting a job. A presentation on MassTransfer will discuss the benefits of transferring from MCC to a four-year Mass. university or UMass campus. To learn more about Financial Aid – and why students should apply – staff will walk through the application process.

Other sessions include topics on Academic Advising, Tutoring Services, Disability Support Services, the Honors Program, the First Year Experience Course, Interdisciplinary Courses and Getting Started at MCC, including as an Adult Learner.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with faculty across the many majors Middlesex offers – including the Arts and Humanities; Communications; Business, Public Service and Legal Studies; Education; Social Science; the Health fields and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

After registering for the Open House, participants will receive an email from SCHED providing them with instructions to register for their sessions of choice. A second Admissions Virtual Open House Event will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27.
