Middlesex Community College will continue the Spring 2023 “A World of Music” concert series with a performance by the Aroma Duo at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 14 at MCC’s Concert Hall in Bedford.
“The audience will be experiencing classical music at a 360-degree spectrum,” said Johnny Mok, MCC Professor and member of Aroma Duo. “We have music of the old like Bach, the new like Fazil Say, and everything in between. We will experience the essence of the musical timeline and also a different genre of music together! This program is perfect for the ‘World of Music’ series because we have composers from, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Turkey and Afghanistan. We can’t wait show you what’s in store!”
Mok, cellist, and pianist Tianhong Yang will perform a varied program of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Franz Liszt, and new works by Turkish composer Fazil Say and Afghan composter Arson Fahim.
All of MCC’s “A World of Music” concerts are free and open to the public.
MCC kicked off the Spring 2023 concert series with a performance by the Lowell Chamber Orchestra. A final performance at the Academic Arts Center will be Wong Pleng Khmer at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 29.
Upcoming “A World of Music” performances at MCC’s Bedford Campus Concert Hall include Jeannette Lee, Mezzo Soprano, and Friends at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 23; an MCC Student Recital at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8; and Latin American Music Featuring the Cello at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12.
MCC’s Concert Hall is located in Henderson Hall at 591 Springs Road in Bedford. Parking is available on-campus.
