First Parish Bedford Plant and Craft Fair
May 18, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Free
Over the years, the Fair in Bedford has marked the passage from the chill of late winter into the hopeful warmth of spring.
Every fair is different, but some of its features seem to be eternal. The bustle of early morning as crafters set up tents and restless gardeners circle the plant area eyeing its contents and mentally compiling lists of bounty to be gathered, excited children racing across the Common, their parents forming small groups of conversation, all these are constant features of the fair. This year’s fair will feature many constants: the plants, the bake sale, the book table, the crafters, the baby goats, and farm animals from Chip-in Farm, the live performances of musicians.
There are some new ones, too. This year the Fair will have a bike corral for cyclists, and we have a new limited-edition just-for-the-Plant-Fair Bedford flower pots, courtesy of Bedford’s resident potter Teresa Deible of Clayful Expressions (www.facebook.com/Clayful-Expressions-Teresa-Deible).
Good weather cannot be guaranteed, but the Plant and Craft Fair is always a hopeful event, come rain or come shine. The organizers of the First Parish Bedford Plant and Craft Fair look forward to seeing you there.
