Building Bridges — A Concert Featuring Vintage Music of Latin America
March 10, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Pianist Jacqueline Schwab, noted for her evocative playing on the soundtracks of documentary filmmaker Ken Burns’ Civil War (Grammy award), Baseball, Mark Twain, Frank Lloyd Wright, The War, and others, will perform a solo piano concert.
Building Bridges celebrates the sensual spirit, expressive melodies and pulsing dance rhythms of vintage music from Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and Mexico.
Jacqueline will perform her own as well as traditional, arrangements of vintage folk habaneras, tangos, and waltzes — styles that were forerunners of contemporary Latin music.
During the program, Jacqueline speaks about the power of music to transport us beyond our own lives and on to new horizons, making connections to other cultures.
This concert is co-sponsored by the nine congregations of the Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition – Click this link to print a flyer to share in your neighborhood
